At the request of Mr. Richard Sturm, I would like to comment on his projected work, "See All the People". Mr. Sturm sent me a comprehensive recording of this book, both text and visual material, and I was most impressed by the spirit of the project. I found the core ideas vital, relevant and rich in meaning, and the graphic material innovatingly courageous, sensitive, and powerful. I believe his project is worthy of support, and I would fullheartedly recommend that Mr. Sturm get a "Material Cost Project Grant" from the Canada Council to defray the cost of the lithograph edition of the book.
I met Mr. Sturm some years ago during one of my lectures in Toronto and I was most impressed with his imaginative, innovating spirit, his commitment and his full control of his material. I am convinced that he is a man to be supported and would deeply appreciate a sympathetic ear to my recommendation.
